Ritvik Rajan

Ritvik Rajan is a musician with visual impairment and cognitive challenges. Trained in Hindustani Vocals, Western Vocals, Western Rock and Pop, music is what brings him the greatest joy. And it is this joy that he has been sharing with listeners across his 2000 stage performances in India and abroad. Rajan has received numerous awards in recognition of his contributions to the music industry. He was also adjudged a B-High artist by All India Radio, Bangalore.

We are One

The charitable trust We Are One comprises of artists with physical disabilities, and persons with hearing and speech impairments who believe that dance has no barriers. Founded by Husnain, a professional wheelchair dancer, We Are One was begun in the year 2016. Since then, the talented troupe has amazed crowds with their performances in over 10 countries including the USA, UK, Canada, Russia, Italy, and Singapore

 Joyful Choir

Joyful Choir is a program at the Shankar Mahadevan Academy (SMA) that is intended for children who are on the Autism Spectrum. The program was initiated with the belief that performing and listening to music brings unparalleled happiness to children living with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Sixty Goan students with various disabilities have been training under the SMA. Purple Rain will witness them sharing the stage with the musical maestro Shankar Mahadevan himself.

Jyothi K

Jyothi Kalaiselvi is a singer who is on the autism Spectrum and lives with visual impairments. Her love for music shone through from a very young age, and has been her constant companion. Kalaiselvi rose to fame when her cover of ‘Kannamma’ from the movie ‘Rekka’ received tremendous applause online. It led her to work as a playback singer in the film ‘Adangathey’ with Tamil music director GV Prakash. The artist continues to amaze audiences with her performances in concerts and TV programs.

Abhay Kumar Sharma

Abhay Sharma is a performer and entertainer with visual impairment. He has made his way into the hearts of the public as a celebrated stand-up comedian, YouTuber, and lyricist. Sharma is well known for his participation as a contestant in The Great Indian Laughter Challenge (2017) and India’s Laughter Champion (2022).

Udaan music band

Begun in 2005, Udaan isn’t just a regular band. It is special in more ways than one. Initially, the band was comprised of two immensely gifted and visually impaired musicians – Keval Liladhar Haria and Deepak Govind Bedsa. Udaan was the culmination of their fervent dream to reach out to people through their melodies. Today, the band is composed of 10 members – proficient singers, percussionists, pianists, guitarists, and sitar players. Their versatile repertoire includes Folk, Classical, Western, and Bollywood music.

Tara - National award winning play

Tara is one of the earliest plays crafted by writer Mahesh Dattani. Directed by Sohaila Kapur and Divya Arora, this play tells the story of siblings Chandan and Tara as they navigate life in a dysfunctional family. The play is set in the 90s and highlights themes of gender discrimination. The protagonist, Tara, is physically disabled. She is played by Divya, a professional actor living with cerebral palsy. Divya’s talents have empowered her to work with numerous celebrated actors including Tom Alter.

DJ Aamish

Aamish is India’s first and the world’s second DJ with disability, and is best known for his signature sound in the genres of House and Techno. He is also an acclaimed producer having released hypnotic tracks on renowned labels such as Inner Symphony (Steyoyoke Recordings), Spring Tube, and Duenia Records. Aamish has shared the stage with some of the industry’s most celebrated artists including Dyro, Sevenn, Martin Garrix, Wiz Khalifa, Jason Derulo, Dubvision, Don Diablo, Coyu, Lee Van Dowski, Dousk, Gab Rhome and Assia.
