Homiyar Mobedji

Dr. Homiyar Mobedji is a Disability Expert and is currently the Regional Representative for Benetech, a technology driven organization that believes in bringing about social change for the better. Homiyar heads the operations for Benetech in India, SouthEast Asia, Middle East & Africa. Born with Retinitis Pigmentosa, a degenerative eye condition, Dr Homiyar went about his life in all ways mainstream. He trained to become a clinical physiotherapist and went on to head the first ever Physiotherapy College for the Blind. An astute supporter of digital literacy for the blind, Dr Homiyar was one of the early users and promoters of assistive technology.

Dipendra Manocha

A founder trustee of Saksham Trust, Dipendra Manocha is committed to empowering persons with visual disabilities. With appropriate use of technology, he is facilitating their inclusion in education, livelihood, and daily living activities. He is the lead of training and technical support and coordinates DAISY Consortium’s projects in developing countries. Besides, he is the President of the DAISY Forum of India, Vice-President National Association for the Blind (Delhi state branch) and Member of the Braille Council of India. He has also worked as a consultant to Delhi University for establishing the resource centre for persons with disabilities. He is an Ashoka Fellow and has received the National Award of the government of India, the IBN Super Idol Award, and the leadership award from IIM Lucknow.

Ketan Kothari

Ketan Kothari is a disability professional working in the field for the past 30 years. His experience includes heading three departments at the National Association for the Blind, India. He also worked as a Programme Officer and then Advocacy Manager at Sightsavers India. He is presently with Xavier’s Centre for Visually Challenged (XRCVC), St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai. His interests include accessibility for the disabled and inclusive education. He was involved in the advocacy for financial access as also advocacy for the amendment to the Copyright Act of India, 1957; both of which have yielded success.
